Top wind-up merchants in football
|
Diego Costa has to be the current Number One, capable of winding up not only opposing fans, but players and team mates. Not to mention his own fans.
Gary Neville was a master of the art.
Wayne Rooney showed the other night how much the blue half of Manchester love him.
BFS with his cupped ear did a good job of winding up his own supposed fans at UP.
Who's the best wind-up merchant we've ever had?

And when the slut scored the winner for Leeds at ours back in about 89 in division 2, that's the best away support I ever saw at Upton park. Incredible.

I liked vinny jones, as he was a top wind up merchant, but would always have a laugh with the crowd still, unlike some who were incapable of taking stick without throwing their toys around.

According to my late grandfather (while he was alive - I'm not Derek fucking Acorah), John Bond was a master of the art.

Costa's wind-up performance against Spurs the season before last was perfect.

But yeah I would go with Costa. The bloke would start a fight in an empty room. I believe it's just purely down to him being an utter cunt.

BFS's cupped ear was not a wind up. It was an instinctive reaction to the negativity and booing from the crowd after we had just won. It was embarrassing for Sam and probably something he'd never experienced before. For me it was the moment for him that it really sank in that we wanted more than just hanging on for dear life against Hull. Not sure what he wanted us to do after that performance, win or lose.

One of the funniest wind ups I've seen was Sheringham on Fabregas the season after promotion, kept having little digs etc all game, at the end of the game Fabregas gave him a punch in the stomach as they walked off. Teddy just looked at him like a fly had landed and laughed.
